From now until Christmas Day, there will be a flurry of office parties, reunions, family gatherings and meet-ups with friends. And Shopping, and more shopping, and more shopping. And Cards, Have you noticed Christmas cards that used to be $1, are now more like $7 ? You can thank the internet. Card companies have decided that the only way to compete with free communication like email is to ramp up the cards with glue on stick on items and make them hugely expensive. Moreover most cards today are not even written, but a family photo card. But if you think about it, this type of card says "hey I am thinking about me" versus a handwritten note that says "I am thinking of you". It occurs to me that the simple act of taking the time to put pen to just a piece of paper, writing a thought and mailing it is in itself a thoughtful, graceful act. Do you ever feel like the spirit and meaning of Christmas has changed over time from something much simpler? Right now we even fret more about whether we can even say the word Christmas without offending. And then add to that so many people who are quietly suffering during the Holiday season. Either from loss of a loved one, alienation from family and or friends, or simple loneliness. For some people hearing the words" Happy Holidays" can seem like a cruel joke. Why It’s Especially Important to Get a Massage during the Holidays Simple. Self Care. Returning to the present. Balance. Focus. Massage for relaxation is also a mediation of sorts. It helps with tired muscles but also gives the mind time to purge itself of the clutter and the worry a bit. If you’re saying that you will be too busy to take an hour away from your schedule to get a massage, there are plenty of reasons why you should squeeze it in. Take a look:
And for most, there is the simple stresses and pressure of keeping up. There is an enormous underlying pressure to make the holidays larger than life and the expectations we set for them are high. It can be exhausting. For me it is my goal to help people to realize that massage is not a luxury but a necessary form of self care, part of an effective whole life wellness lifestyle. In an especially busy time like the holiday season, your body, and mind and spirit can all benefit from taking a step out and away. ~ with Aloha and Merry Christmas

A Really Good Massage BlogAbout MeI write about things that I myself need to be mindful of. ways in which I would like to improve. It is not from the perspective of preaching - but rather writing helps me work out what I myself need to do - we are all in this together.
