...I discovered some magic taking a 30 Hour Level 1 Lomi Lomi class with Edward Miano.  This was a combined group massage therapists; some with 20 years of experience, some just starting out.  Ed provided a safe and professional environment which he taught us the significance of being present in the moment, the importance to paying attention to the smallest of details all the while creating the confidence in slowing down and being able to move with the upmost grace.  This class immediately evolved the quality of touch I am giving to each of my clients during their treatments.  The ability to get out of my head and allowing my hands to take the reins of intuition has been truly freeing.  Being a client of this work allowed me to just be and absorb the relaxation created by the therapist, a state of relaxation my nervous system has never been introduced to.  I left the table feeling the effects for days.  This work is truly transforming on both sides of the table and with that I know that my journey has just begun into Lomi.  I cannot wait to keep building my techniques with Ed in Levels 2 & 3 and sharing the gifts of this work with clients.  I feel truly blessed to have this treasure box of teaching in our back yard of Boston.
I attended the two day chest and breast class with Edward from Healing Hands Bodywork last week in Boston, MA. I was so impressed with the curriculum and the extremely thorough manual. It was refreshing to experience and perform massage that treats the client in a holistic way and normalizes chest and breast work as part of an integrated full body massage. The class emphasized the importance of communication, respect and boundaries. We experienced a lot of hands on work as well as discussions around how to incorporate this work into our practice. Edward’s teaching style is informal with small class sizes.....which allows for a lot of personal attention as well as the opportunity to bond and communicate fully with other therapists.  Definitely a wonderful class !
 ....Not sure what to expect in my practice when returning from these classes, I was so surprised at the overwhelming response from woman who were so ready to experience this work! Many have embraced the joy of receiving a true full body massage and the incredible relaxation they have gained from it.  I am also about to reinvigorate my oncology work and I am excited to have the chest and breast class under my belt as a jumping off point to incorporate this work with my breast cancer patients. I have gained so much from Edward and all of his classes.
